Covenant of Works?

Should the covenant with Adam before the fall be called “The Covenant of Works” as many have called it?

It seems that not eating of the tree would not be a work, but the negation of an act.

Would it be better termed …

“The Covenant of Fidelity” – since it was man’s fidelity to God that was being tested?

“The Covenant of Creation” – since it was a covenant inaugurated at creation.

  1. I like covenant of creation better, myself. In fact, thats what O.P. Robertson calls it in “The Christ of the Covenants”
